Sister Ruth Lewis, in-charge of Darulskun, an institution for mentally and physically handicapped children in Karachi, has died of the corona virus. According to the Dar es Salaam administration, Sister Ruth Lewis was diagnosed with the corona virus on July 8 and has been receiving treatment at a private hospital ever since. According to the administration, Sister Ruth Lewis passed away last night and her last rites will be performed at 2 pm tomorrow at Christ the King Church in Khudadad Colony. The administration says 21 children in Dar es Salaam have also been infected with corona, and Sister Ruth Lewis has contracted corona while caring for these children. All children affected by corona have been quarantined.
Born in Karachi on May 2, 1946, Sister Ruth Lewis has been serving in Dar es Salaam for 50 years. Chairman PP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his message on the demise of Sister Rath Lewis said that Pakistan has lost another anonymous hero. Sister Rath Lewis devoted her entire life to serving the children of Dar es Salaam. The people of Pakistan should learn from the life of Sister Rath Lewis.
